Q: Do I really need to download new drivers for my MIRAGE video card?
A: The answer is: No! Not necessarily.

If you are happy with the currently installed drivers for your MIRAGE card and do not really need to perform a driver upgrade, please be aware that because of the nature of most PC Operating Systems and lack of a global hardware standard, a new software driver in some cases may not work better than, or even provide the same compatibility as your current drivers for your particular setup. However, if you are experiencing any kind of difficulty with your current setup, we encourage you to download and install the new drivers provided on this download page

Please also note that by installing a new utility program for your application or OS, your old setup for that application may be overwritten and you'll need to go through the basic setup, all over again.

Q: Is My MIRAGE Z-128 (TSENG ET6000 based) card compatible with MS DirectX/Direct 3D?
A: Even though the original MIRAGE Z-128 is in general MicroSoft DirectX compatibles, the processor on-board of this card (TSENG ET6000) does not support the Direct3D component of the DirectX. If you are planning to install and run a DirectX application which requires either DirectDraw or DriectVideo, please download the DirectX drivers for this particular card. If you must have Direct3D compatibility for your applications, you may install a mainstream standard 3D add-on card in your system. However, before investing in an add-on card, you need to notice the following limitations:

  • When using an add-on 3D Accelerator card, 3D acceleration will be usable only when running your games and applications under the Driect3D or OpenGL protocols. In general, You can NOT run games in 3DFX or other proprietary 3D platforms on a fixed frequency monitor, as most add-on cards of such type will install between your primary video card (e.g. your MIRAGE card) and your monitor, using passthrough cables and alter the final video output's refresh rate and frequency to achieve the display environment as required by proprietary formats.

    Because of such awkward setup, once the final video signal is out of your MIRAGE card and on its way to your monitor, there is no way for your MIRAGE card to stop the alteration of the frequency by the add-on card. Therefore, your fixed frequency monitor will receive a frequency which has been altered and may cause screen distortions and malfunction on your monitor end.

    This is just fixed frequency monitor's limitation and can not be considered as a MIRAGE video card's flaw, as you can setup the same card with an add on 3D accelerator in a MultiSync environment to run Direct3D, OpenGL and even 3DFX games (if supported by your 3D accelerator), with no problem, whatsoever.

*3D protocol support availability varies by the product. Check the product specification before purchasing.

Q: I have already registered and received my user name and password. Now, I am trying to download the drivers by entering my user name and password. Yet, I'm not being allowed to access the drivers. What is wrong?
A: All issued user name and passwords are "case sensitive" and have to be entered in "lower case" format. Please make sure that your keyboard's "Caps Lock" feature is not activated and you are not using the "Shift key", when entering your user name and password. Please also refer to instructions as e-mailed to you with your password, for further details.

Q: I enter my user name and password correctly, however I'm not being permitted to access the drivers. What is wrong?
A: In order to limit the problems associated with installation of the incorrect drivers, the provided user name and password will only allow you to download the drivers for your particular video card. For example, if you have registered for a "MIRAGE Z-128" video card, you can not access the drivers for a "MIRAGE Z-128 Pro" card. This way, you will not accidentally install the incorrect drivers. Please make sure that you have entered the correct download area.
